ALIVE

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

Well there’s no reason for you to keep a foul tone
Because you can’t blame a hard case for not knowing what he don’t know

And the word from a good friend isn’t always set in stone
You had to learn the hard way but you know that you should’ve known

Don’t you be afraid to go inside
There’s a place within for you to find

And there’s no way that the wear don’t take a toll
You were headed for a breakdown so you had to roll
And if you knew the fable do you think that you would’ve gone?
Tell me what you feel now when you’re all alone

Don’t you be afraid to go inside
You believe in me/you, you will come…alive

Don’t you be afraid to go inside
You will see me on the other side…alive

CALIFORNIA

Music: C. Sclafani Lyrics: Kandia Crazy Horse & C. Sclafani

All I want is some gone between me and here
Because I only belong with you my dear
California on my mind

Sleak sugar, what you done to me
It’s only with you that I can be free
Boots hit the open road, that I’ve devoted to you

I’m waiting on ya, California
For you to come home
My heart beats for ya, California
You’re my place to roam

Your love for me is your claim to fame
Miss Independance is your other name
You always come and go as you please, please, please

The tide is high, but I ain’t surfin’ on
My fleet footed friend, it’s you I’m gonna wait on
And I shall not be moved by nothing
Nothing but you

I’m waiting on ya, California
For you to come home
My heart beats for ya, California
You’re my place to roam

I LIKE IT THAT WAY

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

I’m up all hours of the evening
I go to bed late in the morning
I attack without warning
And I like it that way

I get up in the afternoon
I write a line and play a new tune
Howl at the sky on a full moon
And I like it that way

A dog is howling in the hallway
A cat’s prowling in an alley way
Who gives a damn about it anyway
I like it that way

They say that seeing is believing
But the sparkle of gold can be deceiving
And if you don’t know you could be grieving
But I like it that way

BITTER

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

Goodbye to the rain, and the forests, and the leaves
Goodbye to the lakes, and the valleys, and the trees
Goodbye to the plains, and the mountains, and the fields
Goodbye to the world and the way that you feel

Only you could be so bitter
So we’ll keep waiting for ever after
You can’t stay 16 forever
Goodbye little child

Goodbye to the clouds and the stars in the sky
Goodbye to the seas and the planets in the high
Goodbye to the moon, and the sun, and the oceans
Here’s to the floods and the fires of emotion

LAY IT DOWN

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

So when your feet are in the air
And your view is from the ground
When you take a look around you
And there’s no one to be found

I know you feel like it’s over
And no one will hear a sound
Take the burden from your shoulder
And lay it down

Can you feel it now?
Then let it flow
Down and easy now
Then let it go

We all do what we have to do
But who are you to talk down?
And if we really want to
We can turn this thing around

So let the spirit overtake take you
And turn the music up loud
Lay, lay, lay it
Lay it down

CARNIVAL

Music: C. Sclafani Lyrics: S. Lukacs & C. Sclafani

The paint on the house has faded to brown
All the horses gone wild since the barn burned to the ground
And while some of our dreams may never come around
You still look like an angel when you wear that blue gown

Confetti still blows on South Street
Where we heard the famous toast
The words of which I don’t recall
Or what we drank to the most

But we’ll pull up the stakes
And roll up the lines
We can make our break, so let it all ride
Take what you want and leave the rest aside
It’s all we can take on this carnival ride

There’s a pain that I try to hide
But I know it so well
To feel you cold by my side
And secrets that I can’t tell

All the while we play along
And the time keeps rolling on
For miles and for days

LET IT GO

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

Mister, mister, hide your eyes
There’s a blood stain on your hand
“You” or “I” is how you spend your day
You’re gonna get what you have coming

Mother needs sun as well as rain for her to grow
You wanna let it ride, then let it go
Sister, sister, dry your eyes
Beauty smiles from the inside out
I’m alive and so glad to realize
And I will not take one day for granted

Mother needs sun as well as rain for her to grow
You wanna let it ride, then let it go

Some say time heals pain
Some seek fortune or fame
Will you wake up someday, having wasted away all the time you let go?

Mother needs love and pain for her to grow
You wanna let it ride, then let it go

SHINE WHITE LIGHT

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

You and I don’t need to dance
You can’t go crying when you leave it to chance
Then you talk about some point of view, but it’s out of line
I’ll tell you now what I’m gonna do
Shine

You wear a smile, but you can’t pretend
that what you’re doing won’t lead to your end
Then you tell me that it’s something new, but it’s all a lie
I’ll show you now what I’m gonna do
Shine

All around you is a lesson
That will flow through from the heavens

White light in my eyes and in my hands
There’s white light in my eyes and in my hands

FIND MY WAY HOME

Music & Lyrics: C. Sclafani

It’s time
The moment’s gone for far too long
I only wanted you to grow
And I’ve held my tongue, but now my patience is gone
This burden weighs me down
And if you really want to know what I think

You are strong
You are beautiful
You are so wonderful in every way
And when you’re gone, darkness falls on a silent midnight
But if the sun can rise, then maybe I can find my way back home
Back home to you

So, I’ll try
I’ll lay it on the line
And now there’s mercury running in my veins
And I’ll let you go, and leave a bitter sweet smile behind
But I really do hope that we make it
And if you really want to know how I feel

You are strong
You are beautiful
You are so wonderful in every way
And when you’re gone, darkness falls on a silent midnight
But if the sun can rise, then maybe I can find my way back home
Back home to you
